Funeral services were held at the church, conducted by the pastor Rev. J.H. Parker, assisted by Rev. Meikle of Monroe. The burial was in Wiota.

Clara Bennett was born near Warren, Pennsylvania, June 12, 1831, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed. Thoreson, near Woodford, May 2, 1925, aged 93 years, 10 months and 20 days. In 1848, she was united in marriage to Solomon Leis. To this union were born three children, Wheeler, Jane and Sol. The dark days of the Civil War came and her husband left his little family and went to serve his country and was killed in service.
In the sixties she came to Wisconsin, where she was married to L.C. Barlow. To this union were born three children, George, Sylvester, who died in infancy, and Ellen, now Mrs. Ed. Thoreson.
Her husband died in 1901, and since that time she has made her home with her daughter. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Jane, and son, Wheeler Leis.
She leaves to mourn her death, two sons, Sol. Leis, of Blanchardville, and George Barlow, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and one daughter, Mrs. Ed. Thoreson, of Woodford. Also sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
