Linda Kidd, 73, of Sioux Falls, SD, died Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Ava's House hospice in Sioux Falls, following a brief battle with cancer.

Linda Elaine Poppens was born on June 28, 1947, in Sioux Falls, the daughter of Elmore and Tena (Javers) Poppens. She grew near Chancellor, SD, attending rural school and then graduating from Lennox High School in 1965.

On December 2, 1967, she was married to Jerry Kidd at Germantown Presbyterian Church. To this union three sons were born. The couple made their home in several locations in southeastern South Dakota and eastern Iowa, until moving to Lennox in 1979. She had worked as a waitress, and then in 1984, began a career with Adams Thermal in Canton, SD. She held various positions until retiring in 2012. Linda lived in Canton until moving into Sioux Falls.

Linda was a member of Germantown Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed interior decorating and collecting antiques. She enjoyed "Thirsty Thursday" gatherings with her co-workers from Adams Thermal. She very much loved her grandchildren and dogs.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Poppens in 2007.

Grateful for having shared her life are her sons: Joe Kidd (Bridget Fechner), Lennox, James (Sheila) Kidd, Tea and Jason (Kylie) Kidd, Sioux Falls; six grandchildren: Skyler Kidd, Hannah (Shelby) Buus, Mason, Kidd, Grace Kidd, Parker Kidd and Jaden Kidd; siblings: Larry (Audrey) Poppens, Chancellor, Lorna (Oliver) Boterman, Tea and Lloyd (Gloria) Poppens, Chancellor; her dog Izzy and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 4 at Germantown Presbyterian Church, rural Chancellor, SD with burial in the Germantown Cemetery. Visitation with the family present, will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home, Lennox.
