Evan S. "Sherm" Taylor, 69, 2917 E. Third St., died Friday, Sept. 16, 1994, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home with a Masonic Service conducted by Tyrian Lodge 508, AF & AM. The body was cremated. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Taylor was born April 25, 1925, in Estherville, Iowa. He married Lucille Carpenter July 7, 1979, in Elk Point, S. D. The couple came to Sioux City many years ago. He worked for Brower Construction Co. and also as a local musician for many years.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Tyrian Masonic Lodge 508, AF & AM, Abu Bekr Shrine Temple and Wrecking Crew; Fraternal Order of Eagles, South Sioux City Aerie 2492; Monahan Post 64; American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1973. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, two daughters; a brother Orval Taylor of Estherville, Iowa, and a sister, Vivian Stamp of Ottawa, Ill.
