Nancy Lee Hamra was born July 11, 1935 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Nick and Virginia Hamra. She departed this earth December 30, 2020 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Nancy grew up in Henryetta and graduated from Henryetta High School in 1952. She attended William Woods College her freshmen year, then transferred to Oklahoma State University where she met her husband, Jon. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and deeply loved the blue and blue!

She graduated from OSU with a degree in Elementary Education which helped support Jon through a tour in the Air Force, dental school and a hospital internship. When the family moved back to Stillwater to make it their permanent home, Nancy did not hesitate to get involved and serve her community. She was a member of PEO, President of Altrusa, Stillwater Hospital volunteer and buyer, and Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni President, treasurer and advisor.

She served on numerous boards and fundraisers such as Stillwater Museum Association, American Cancer Society, Sheerer Museum, Big Brother/Big Sister, Friends of Music Scholarship Musicales, First United Methodist Church and many others. She was most proud of starting the “Celebrity Waiters” fundraiser for Stillwater’s effort for the Leukemia Foundation.

She followed in her father’s footsteps owning and operating a business, Pier 1 Imports, for many years. She loved decorating and entertaining! Nancy was a fabulous cook and loved to travel and garden! She attended numerous cooking schools in Italy and England. She was famous for her authentic Lebanese and Italian dinners as well as her Christmas toffee and desserts.

She loved her family, friends, OSU, Stillwater and cherished her Christian faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jon Patton, parents and her younger brother Nikky.

She is survived by her daughter Diane Fix and husband Dusty Fix of Stillwater, son Barry Patton and wife Vanessa Patton of Stillwater, grandchildren Dylan Fix, Daxton Fix, Kailey Weiner and husband Jake Weiner, Skyler Patton and wife Chelsea Patton, and great grandson Asher Weiner.

Without doubt, she was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Nancy’s life will be celebrated on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m.
