Betty Ann Beckman was born on August 7, 1938 in Leonard, OK to Lonzo Norton and Lucy (Dunlap) Norton. She passed from this life on December 22, 2020 at her home in Bixby, OK at the age of 82 years, 4 months & 15 days.
Betty was a very beloved homemaker that left a lasting legacy for her family to strive for. She will be remembered as a woman of great faith and she loved reading and learning through the Bible with Les Feldick. She always had a great wit, was easy to love, was nurturing and compassionate, was a peacemaker and was never interested in material things. She was a wonderful cook and her fried chicken, cornbread and pies were legendary. She loved to watch Andy Griffith and simply enjoy the quieter and simpler things in life. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Beckman and 6 siblings; Walter Howard, Fred Norton, Pearl Cantu, Jim Norton, Kathy Mitchell & Hansel Norton.
She is survived by her 4 daughters; Nita Temple of Bixby, Jackie Holdway of Addison, IL, Ethel Bertany of Glendale Heights, IL & Jennifer Carlisle of Broken Arrow, 3 sisters; Wanda Tannehill of Hulbert, OK, Dora Beede of Collinsville, OK & Lucy Mae Turner of Leonard, 2 brothers; Charley Norton of Hectorville & Joe Lee Norton of Bixby, 5 grandchildren; Kelli Sweeney, Justin Osvoll, Samantha Wirth, Magen Holdway & Brandi Holdway, 9 great-grandchildren; Tyler Tarrant, Jacob Tarrant, Gabi Sweeney, Adam Osvoll, Camryn Osvoll, Maverick Wirth, Eleanor Osvoll, Dakota Wirth & Olivia Holiday-Kelly along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and longtime friends.
Casket bearers are Jim Carlisle, Tyler Tarrant, Jacob Tarrant, Joe Norton, Tuck Turner & John Slaughter.
Visitation has been scheduled from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 27, 2020 in the Leonard-Marker Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 28 in the Leonard-Marker Chapel officiated by Pastor Ronnie Gibson. Interment will follow in the Bixby Cemetery.
