A funeral service was held for Hansel A. Norton, 62, at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Bixby with interment following in the Bixby Cemetery officiated by Pastor Louis Havener. Services by Leonard & Marker Funeral Home of Bixby.
Hansel A. Norton was born on November 18, 1947, in Bixby, Okla., to Lonzo Norton and Lucy (Dunlap) Norton. He died Jan. 23, 2010, in Tulsa, Okla. Hansel had lived in the Bixby community virtually all of his life. He worked many years as a brick and stone mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Pearl Cantu and Kathy Mitchell; and one brother, Walter Howard. He is survived by his wife, Kaye (Stephens) Norton whom he married on May 3, 1969, in Broken Arrow. He is also survived by one daughter,Tina Fitzmorris and husband Denny, of Bixby; four brothers, Fred Norton of Bixby, Charley Norton of Bixby, Jim Norton of Okmulgee, and Joe Norton of Bixby; four sisters, Betty Beckman of Bixby, Wanda Tannehill of Hulbert, Dora Beede of Owasso and Lucy Turner of Leonard; six grandchildren, Lindsey Thomason and husband Chris, Nathan Fitzmorris, Hannah Fitzmorris, Montana, Dillon and Emily Norton; one great-grandson, Preston Thomason; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
