Born November 3, 1929 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Addison Blair and Alcie Owen Blair. She was predeceased by her husband, Calvin Fletcher Watson; one son, Sammy Watson; four brothers, Aaron Blair, Earl Blair, Sr., Clarence Blair, and Charles Blair, Sr.; and three sisters, Edna Blair, Ora Matherly, and Peggy Willis. Mrs. Watson was a faithful member of New Bethel Church of the Brethren where she was a member of the Ladies Fellowship. She was a home maker; and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and reading the Bible. She loved her family and her church family.
She is survived by one son, Timothy Wayne Watson and wife, Lori of Pittsville; two daughters, Cecelia Hedrick and husband, G.E. of Chatham, and Elizabeth Pruitt and husband, Danny of Chatham; two sisters, Mary Jane Hancock and husband, Edward of Gretna, and Alice Holley and husband, Tommy of Gretna; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and another great-grandchild on the way.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Greenbay Christian Church Cemetery by Rev. Curtis English and Greg Hedrick.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Greenbay Christian Church Cemetery.
