Born September 4, 1938 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Samuel Addison Blair and Alcie Owen Blair. He was predeceased by a daughter, Gale Throckmorton; a grandson, Adam Blair Witt; three brothers, Earl Blair, Aaron Blair, and Clarence Blair; and a sister, Edna Blair. Mr. Blair was a member of Lynchburg Church of Christ and was a retired employee of Lynchburg City Schools. Mr. Blair enjoyed working on cars and woodworking. He was a Master Carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Mary Adams Blair of the residence; two sons, Charles (Bo) Blair, Jr. and wife, Cheri of Forest, and Scotty Blair of Gretna; one daughter, Carolyn (Susie) Witt and husband, N.E. of Lynchburg; five sisters, Ora Matherly of Gretna, Estelle Watson of Chatham, Mary Jane Hancock of Pittsville, Peggy Willis of Ferrum and Alice Holley of Gretna; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2012 at Spring Hill Cemetery by Ray Eure, Minister.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
