Samuel (Sam) Livingstone
August 2, 1930 - December 5, 2008
Sam Livingstone, 78, of Simcoe died at Norfolk General Hospital on Friday, December 5, 2008.
Much loved husband of Edna and predeceased by his first wife Marjorie (1971). Loving father of Steve Livingstone and his wife Denise of Port Dover, Kari Barber and her husband Murray of Simcoe and Dave Davidson and his wife Alison Vicary of Guelph. Predeceased by a daughter Margo (2008).
Dear grandfather to David, Kim, Greg, Andrew, Jason, Jessica, Amy, Matthew and Robert and great grandfather to Saige, Autumn and Micah.
Predeceased by his parents Matthew Livingstone and Sarah Jane McCurry. Also predeceased by his brothers John and Frank, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Graham and Margery Thomson and Ian and Margaret Thomson and Billie and George Hinshelwood.
Sam is also survived by brother Robert (Bob) and Sandy, his sisters-in-law Gerry (John) and Irene (Frank) Livingstone, Aliatair and Liz Thomson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sam was employed by the American Can in Simcoe for 31 years retiring in 1979. He was an active member of St. James United Church and an avid square dancer for over 20 years.
Friends are invited to call at THE FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St., S., Simcoe on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Sam's life service will be held at ST. JAMES UNITED CHURCH, John St., Simcoe on Wednesday, December 10 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Mary Jo Patterson officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations to The Canadian Diabetes Association or the St. James Memorial Bible Fund would be appreciated.
