YORK Paul D. "Rocky" Summers, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, York. He was the husband of Hannah M. (Ickes) Summers, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on November 2, 2006. Mr. Summers was born September 9, 1928, in Woodberry, to the late Charles and Annie (Lutzinger) Summers. Paul was employed as a cost accountant for York International, formerly Borg Warner, retiring after 41 years of service. He later worked for the York Ice Co. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of York, and the York International 25 Year Club. Paul was an avid hunter. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald E. Summers of York New Salem; a daughter, Deborah A. Allen of Spring Grove; one granddaughter, Christine M. Beck; two greatgrandchildren, Ashley and Tyler McGlaughlin; two brothers, Richard Summers and Charles Summers, Jr., both of York; and three sisters, Ethel Barnes and Beatrice Fair, both of York, and Margaret Gladfelter of Gettysburg. Paul was preceded in death by a brother, Clair Summers. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2007, at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Deborah L. Volker, officiating. Paul's final resting place will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
