Suitberta was born Oct. 22, 1920, at Fidelity, the daughter of Joseph W. and Elizabeth Buser Rochel. She attended St. Augustine's grade school, Fairview High School and graduated in 1939 from Immaculate Conception High School, St. Marys.
She moved to St. Louis and worked for the Midwestern office of the American Red Cross. She took volunteer nurses training and worked at City Hospital. She worked for United States Cartridge Co. as a secretary.
She married Leonard H. Burdick, Kelly, Kan., April 28, 1943, at St. Bede's Church, Kelly. She worked on the Ray Deaver farm, Sabetha. She worked as a nurse aide at the Sabetha Hospital and retired from there.
She enjoyed helping patients, gardening and canning.
She was a member of St. Augustine's Church and St. Ann's Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert Burdick and Lenny Burdick Jr., Fairview; three daughters, Elizabeth Olberding, Leavenworth, Mary Rottinghaus, Seneca, and Lila Brown, Meridian, Idaho; a sister, Sister Mary Lawrence, Huntington, Ind.; 27 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
