Woman Asks Divorce.
A divorce suit was filed yesterday in district court by Mrs. Louella Hampson against James C. Hampson upon the grounds of neglect and abandonment. Mrs. Hampson states in her petition that her husband left her about a year ago and that since that time he has contributed nothing toward the support of herself and her 8-year-old son and that only 25 cents has been given their 6-year-old daughter during that time.

She asks that the court grant her an aboslute [absolute] decree of divorce and that Hampson be forced to make a regular weekly contribution to the children, whom she asks to be placed in her care.

MAY VISIT HIS CHILDREN.
__________

Motion in Hampson Divorce Suit
Is Sustained.

A motion in the divorce suit of Mrs. L. B. Hampson against her husband, James Hampson, to set aside a decree of the court which would not allow the husband to visit his children and ordered him to pay his wife's attorney's fees, which amounted to $50, was heard before Judge Sapp yesterday afternoon.

The different charges in the divorce suit were rehearsed by the attorneys for the plaintiff and defendant, which took up several hours. After all arguments were ended, Judge Sapp ordered that the husband be allowed to visit his children on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays between the hours of 4 and 9 o'clock, and that the decree ordering the husband to pay the $50 attorney fee be suspended for the time being.

Louella Hampton divorced James Hampson in 1913 in Cherokee County, KS.

He was married at the time of his death to Daisy Hampson and they lived in Arkansas.

I found a couple of articles, one in the Joplin Globe about his daughter Marie going to Arkansas to see her dad in March 1922. Another article was that his brother had gone to Arkansas to see him. Both noted that he was critically ill. March 1922.

Did not find an obit for him. Did find his D.C.

His wife was maybe Daisy Ann Thompson whose last name was Atkinson at the time of her death. She married Atkinson in 1956 per FindaGrave. Could not find marriage for Daisy and James.
