Obituary: Mrs. Christiana Ade, nee Chlichtes, (gravestone says Nancy C.) was born at Ludwigsburg, Germany, March 22, 1833 (gravestone says 1834) and died March 7, 1905. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church at the age of fourteen years. In 1853 she emigrated to this country with her intended husband, and settled at Cincinnati, Ohio, and on June 4, of the same year, she was united in marriage to Christopher Ade (gravestone says John Christopher). They lived in Ohio five years, then moved to Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois, living there five years, and then moved to Mason County where she resided until her death.

To this union were born eleven children, seven daughters and four sons, two of whom preceded her across the river of death. She leaves a husband, nine children, seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one brother, one sister, and a host of friends to mourn her departure.

She was a kind mother, an affectionate wife, a loving neighbor, and will be greatly missed at home and by those who had learned to love her.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church of Kilbourne on last Wednesday, Elder E. B. Ashurst of Kilbourne officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Kilbourne Cemetery.
