Headline: Grannie Smith's Funeral Today
Brownfield (Special) – Services for Mrs. C. J. (Grannie) Smith, 92, long-time resident of Terry County, will be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Bailey, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was dead on arrival at Brownfield General Hospital at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. She had been ill for quite some time. Born in Madison County, she came to Terry County from Dickens in 1929, where she and her husband farmed until his death in 1955. She was a member of Challis Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. A. E. McBroom and Mrs. E. V. George, both of Brownfield, 19 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.
