Warren T. "Tim" Benson, 68, 1739 Clay Drive, died Thursday (Feb. 8, 2007) in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

He was born Aug. 25, 1938, in Peoria, the son of Leon E. and Helen V. Hornbek Benson.

He married June Elliott Junkin. He married Carabeth Plummer Savidge on Oct. 14, 1984, in Dahinda. She survives.

Also surviving are a stepson, Cameron C. (and Crystal) Junkin, San Diego; a daughter, Robin Lynn Benson; two stepdaughters, Carol Ann (and Walt) Savidge Foster, Tatla Lake, British Columbia, Canada, and Kim Marie (and John) Savidge Linn, Big Piney, Wyo.; and a sister, Dixie (and Robert) Bullock, Colona. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Shelly Kay Benson, and a half sister.

He lived in Galesburg most of his life. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1956 and earned an associate's degree in applied science from Carl Sandburg College in 1974.

He served in the Navy from 1956 to 1962.

He was a heavy equipment operator at the water division for the City of Galesburg for 35 years, retiring May 27, 1996.

He was a member of Antique Motorcycle Club, Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285, Galesburg Railroad Museum and Good Guys Rod and Customs Association.

His hobbies included golfing, riding his motorcycle, and restoring antique motorcycles.

Cremation will be accorded. Private family burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
