GALESBURG - Helen V. Howard, 77, of 1656 Flamingo Drive died at 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1991, at St. Mary Medical Center.

Born July 25, 1914, in Chicago to Harvey and Emma Kohtz Hornbeck, she married Paul K. Howard on Jan. 1, 1954, in Galesburg. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Warren Tim Benson of Galesburg; two daughters, Dalyne Moore of Martinville and Dixie Lee White of Galesburg; four grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren.

She worked at the former Hotel Custer and the Soangetaha Country Club, both in Galesburg, before retiring in 1978. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at East Linwood Cemetery, the Rev. Arnold Thoren officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
