William Lewis Bishop, age 67 of Colonial Heights, departed this life on October 31, 2001, to be with our Heavenly Father in Heaven. He was the son of the late Joseph B. and Bessie Mayes Bishop. Mr. Bishop was a member of the Calvary Baptist in Colonial Heights and was retired from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company and Southside Regional Medical Center. His wife Jean R. Bishop survives him, along with three sons and one daughter, Robert L. and Brenda A Bishop, Ronald W. and Janet A. Bishop, Michael R. Bishop and Billie Gail Allgood, all of Colonial Heights. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.; Melissa L. Bishop, Laura J. Bishop, Michelle R. Ferguson and husband Private 1st Class Travis J. Ferguson, Amanda M. Bishop, Carol Anne Bishop, Samantha L. Bishop, all of Colonial Heights, William G. Allgood Jr. of Hopewell and Taylor L. Bishop of Matoaca, and Faith A. Ferguson, of Colonial Heights. Mr. Bishop is also survived by five sisters and two brothers; Barbara Badershall and Phyllis Williams, both of Colonial Heights, Ethel Ball and Audrey Harris of Richmond, Charlotte Richter of Petersburg, Mary G. Sheffield of Burkeville, Ernest B. Bishop of Dinwiddie, and Joseph M. Bishop of Mechanicsville, along with Numerous brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place 11:00 am on Saturday November 3, 2001, in the chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights with the Rev Marshall O. Bonds officiating. Interment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 17001 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, VA, 23834
