Barbara's first residence was 811 Rome Street in Petersburg, 1935-1936 between 1937 & 1948 she lived at 1111 Upper Appomattox St in Petersburg, Virginia In 1948 she was a member of the Glee Club at Petersburg High School, 1950 she lived at 148 Spring Street,
She first married Claude Holt Mustian on July 9, 1954 at West End Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia with Pastor Charles Standridge officiating. After their wedding they took a short trip and made their home on W. Washington Street in Petersburg. They separated on March 1, 1966 and divorced May 11, 1967. A few months after her and Claude broke up her sister Ethel asked her to go to the NCO club on Fort Lee to listen to country music bands and drink pepsi. They had no money and everything was free as Ethel's husband was in the service. Barbara went a few times and met Larry. Larry would walk from Fort Lee all the way around Petersburg to Colonial Heights to see her. That was before Temple Avenue was built. She married Larry William Badershall on May 12,1967 in Petersburg, Virginia proving he was not a "Homesick Solider" (story of how they met was told by Barbara on January 23, 2012) On October 18, 1978 her daughter Kathy Jean Mustian Wilson passed away after falling from a horse obtaining a head injury. After that she remained strong and instilled in her children how to be strong. Barbara continued to live in her home in Colonial Heights and worship her Lord while helping raise her grandkids and great grandchildren. She loved to rock in her rocking chair and watch her shows. At her death she had 3 living daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
