Otis Childs (b: 1820 NY) and Barbara Harper (b: Scotland), grandson of William & Sally (Bemis) Childs, and brother of Edwin B., William O., Westley H, Charles O., Francis H. "Frank" Childs, and Marion L (Childs) Swobe. The Childs family moved to the Lincoln Co./Spokane, WA area before 1885. Martin's occupations include: policeman, farmer, wheelwright, watchman in the mining industry, and manager. Martin took the oath of a Special Police Officer in Spokane in 1920. Though Martin did not marry, and had no children of his own, he is remembered and remains with us though the descendants of his nieces and nephew.
