MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. - Norman Roy Bodle of West Decatur, RD 1, Clearfield County Pa,, was killed Tuesday night when his car ran off U.S. Highway 421 three miles south hero. The highway patrol said Bodle, 25, suffered a broken neck.

Former Resident Of West Decatur Killed in Wreck

WEST DECATUR — Sgt. Norman Roy Bodle, 25, son of Ralph N. and Grace (Wisor) Bodle of West Decatur R. D., was killed in an automobile accident Tuesday at Mountain City, Tenn., near the North Carolina state line.

Sgt. Bodle, a former area resident, was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., with Company B of the 2nd Airborne Ground Forces of the 504th Infantry.

He was born at West Decatur Feb. 2, 1938, and was graduated from Philipsburg High School in 1957. He was a member of the Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church.

He was married in 1959 to the former Jean McDaniels, who survives with two daughters; Printha Grace and Melinda Jean. He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Albert W. and Ronald R. Bodle, Clearfield; Mrs. Alberta Fleck, Tucson, Ariz.; Mrs. La Vaughn Glosser and Mrs. Norrna Kerfoot, West Decatur; and Mrs. Pauline Dixon, Wallaceton.

His body is being returned here for interment. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later.

Sgt. Bodle entered the Army in the summer of 1957 and received his basic training at Fort Gordon, Ga. He was later stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky., and served in Germany from 1960 until this year.

WEST DECATUR — Funeral services for Sgt. Norman Roy Bodle, 25, of West Decatur, who vas killed in an automobile accident Tuesday at Mountain City, Tenn., will be held Sunday at 2 p. m. from the Dahlgren Funeral Home at Philipsburg with the Revs. Harvey L. Williams and Cyrus Wion officiating.

Interment will be made in the Reidy Cemetery at Wallaceion. Friends will be received at :he funeral home tomorrow from 7 to 9 p. m.
