Death of Mrs. Adkins.
Mrs. Sophia Adkins, aged 56 years, died at 7:40 this morning at her home in Baker Diggin's. Mrs. Adkins' death was caused by dropsy and she had been sick about a year. She leaves five children, three boys and two girls. Funeral services were held from the family residence at 5:30 this afternoon, conducted by Rev. Gurrley, of the Baptist church. Burial was made in the Galena cemetery.

Death of Mrs. Adkins.
Mrs. Sophia Adkins, aged 56 years, died at 7:40 this morning at her home in Baker Diggin's. Mrs. Adkins' death was caused by dropsy and she had been sick about a year. She leaves five children, three boys and two girls. Funeral services were held from the family residence at 5:30 this afternoon, conducted by Rev. Gurrley, of the Baptist church. Burial was made in the Galena cemetery.

Sophia Ann Bailey Adkins was born 23 February 1845 in Springfield Illinois.
She died 08 July 1902 Galena Kansas.
She met and married William Taylor Adkins, a civil war veteran, who was farming wheat and other grains in several areas in the Midwest.
They were the parents of ten children of which five survived to adulthood.
