Community Health Center of
Branch County. Mr Birchfield
was born November 14, 1923
in Lagrange, Indiana, to Walker
and Alka Fraley Birchfield.
Mr. Birchfield was a molder
for the former Midwest Foundry
for 27 years, retiring in 1985.
He was also a flagman at Butler
Motor Speedway for 23 years.
He had been a resident of Branch
county area since 1946, moving
there from Fremont, In. He was
a member of the Reorganized
Church of the Latter Day Saints.
He enjoyed racing, hunting fishing
and baseball, especially the Detroit
Tigers and Atlanta Braves.
He married Mary L Siegel in 1946
in Fremont, Indiana. Survivors
include his wife, Mary, sons,
James (Robyn) Birchfield of
Bronson, MI., Keven (Marleny)
Birchfield of Coldwater, MI., and
a daughter Mary D Birchfield of
Coldwater, MI., Three grandchildren,
Andrew James and Marlana Birchfield
and Geovanny Lopez, one brother,
Robert (Gloria) of Litchfield, MI., three
sisters, Katherine Woods of Homer, MI.,
Lucille (Andrew) Dudek of Fayetteville,
NC., and Shirley (Walter) Dale of Cold-
water, MI. He was preceded in death
by two brothers, and one sister.
There will be no visitation. There
will be a private family service at a
later date. Memorials may be made
to Life Span Visiting Nurses, Envelopes
are available at the funeral Home.
Arrangements are made by Dutcher
Funeral Home of Coldwater. Burial
will be at the Jamestown Cemetery,
Jamestown, Indiana.
