Fred's parents were Rudolph & Mary Cunningham Howery. He was born on June 13, 1875. Fred & Minnie Stid were married in Leslie by A. F. White, on April 27, 1899. Ollie Stid (Minnie's sister) and Ford Hayhoe (Ollie's future husband) stood up with them. Fred was 23, Minnie was 20. Rudolph and Mary came from Ohio; lived in Eaton Rapids for a while, then eventually moved to the Plains Road farm, which is still in the family in 2019, owned by Fred's grandson.

A little Ford tractor tipped over on Fred, crushing him. He got pneumonia, from which he died. Everyone said that he was a jolly sort of fellow. They lived on old 127 until a cyclone came through and tore off the top story of the house. Then they moved down to the Plains Road house with Rudolph & Mary, eventually buying it.

Their children: Albert Howery, Dec. 4, 1900; Robert Ralph Howery, Nov. 11, 1910.
His grandchildren were: Lester, Beverly, Helen and Roger.
