Enlisted 25 Aug 1861, as a Private in Co K, 2nd Reg. of NY Cavalry Volunteers. He was seriously wounded and held at Belle Island Prison Camp. When paroled, 9 Mar 1863, he was sent to Camp Banks in Washington, DC. For the remainder of his life he suffered from his wounds.

Soldier applied for Pension 7 Feb 1867, App#122038, Cert#81583.

Widow, Brianna, applied for Pension 25 Mar 1890, App#417942, Cert#274504
