Claire was the wife of the late Dr. Melvin Shulman, who died in 2015. She is survived by her sister, Ruth; her daughter, Ellen Louise Shulman Baker, M.D., M.P.H, a physician and retired astronaut who took part in three space shuttle spaceflights; a son, Lawrence Shulman, M.D., an oncologist; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is predeceased by her son, film director, Kim F. Shulman, who died in 2001.
Claire, a breast cancer survivor, had been battling lung and pancreatic cancer before she passed away.
