William was born as a twin to his brother Amos. William married Hannah Tichenor, 1/20/1766, in New Providence Presbyterian Church, Essex Co., NJ [today it's in Union Co.; Union County was only created in 1857]. William was a rev. war vet, but no pension file exists; only unit records in NJ State Archives. William's obit exists in the first Northfield Baptist Church Record book, & is buried in an unmarked grave. 55 Meeker graves were destroyed in 1921, during widening of the road along side of the graveyard, but no details of stones or persons were kept for these lost graves. In addition, reports of 150 years ago, say there are many unmarked graves.
William & wife Hannah had 10 children: Elijah [1768], Henry [1770], David [1771], Amos [1772], Rhoda [1773], Josephus [1774], Lydia [1775], Sarah [1776], William [1777], & Jonathan [1779]. Very old family data say Jonathan died on the trip from NJ to Ohio, in 1817; if any family information or burial location exists for son Jonathan, it is unknown today.
