Sidney A. Lindstrom
Sidney A. Lindstrom, of Portage, age 81, passed away January 28, 2006. Mr. Lindstrom was born July 3, 1924 to Andrew and Ruth Lindstrom in Miller, Indiana. He was a lifelong area resident, a graduate of Wirt High School Class of 1943, a veteran of World War II and was retired from Operating Engineers Local # 150. He enjoyed golfing and gardening, especially growing tomatoes. He also raised and raced harness horses, both trotters and pacers. He was the proud owner of his 15-B crane.
Sidney was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Leona; two grandsons: Andrew and Mark; eight brothers and sisters: Survivors are four sons: Leonard (Ella) Lindstrom of LaPorte, Dale (Candy) Lindstrom of Valparaiso, Kerry (Suzanne) Lindstrom of Nebraska and Jon (Barbara) Lindstrom of Portage; one daughter, Lee Ann (Mike) Stoehr of Portage and brother, Roy (Betty) Lindstrom of Portage; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday, January 31, 2006 with Rev. Charles R. Strietelmeier officiating at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel. Burial in McCool Cemetery.
