Lola is the daughter of Dean and Rebecca Redden. She grew up in Fisher County, Texas before marrying Homer Barnes in 1931. Together they had two sons and three daughters. She remained in Texas for the rest of her life and outlived her husband by fifteen years. At the time of her death, Lola was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother many times over.
