Howard Ward, 88, husband of the late Willa Snow Jones Ward, died Wednesday, January 6, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Ward was born on April 22, 1932 in Florence County, son of the late Troy Eugene Ward and Mellissa Margaret Prosser Ward. He served in the South Carolina National Guard for 12 years and was the former owner of Howard Ward Construction. Mr. Ward was a master woodworker, known for building beautiful stair cases. He was a dedicated member of Peace Free Will Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years and was a faithful supporter to missions. His favorite pass time was going to church.

Surviving are his children, Rose Marie (Luther) Stone of Lake City, Marlo McCutcheon of Coward, Mitchell (Patrice) Ward of Murrells Inlet, Ricky (Amanda) Ward of Scranton, Melissa (Terry) Altman of Lake City and Larry (Connie) Cooper of Florence; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her grandsons, Matthew McCutcheon and Brandon Ward; brothers, Gary O. Ward, Millard D. Ward and Ernest Ward; sisters, Johnsie Rollo and Josephine Matthews; and son-in-law, Andy McCutcheon.
