GRAND SALINE – Mr. Scott Wilson, Sr. passed from this life Sunday morning, July 26, 2020, in Grand Saline.

Scott was born December 12, 1921 at his family’s home in Arcadia, Texas, side by side with his twin brother, Wade. He had been a lifetime resident of Arcadia prior to his recent move to Grand Saline.

He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for 43 years and was a World War II veteran, having served in the U. S. Army. He and his brother, Wade, were team ropers in their youth. Scott loved to Bar-B-Que, ride horses, always had a playful spirit and loved his family and his Lord. He was one of the charter members of VFW Post #5400 in Santa Fe.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorene; son, Charles Douglas Wilson, Sr.; parents, Lee Temple and Selma (Sidell) Wilson; brothers, Wade, George and Lee; sisters, Selma DePitt, Mary Louise Lothrop, Margaret Manwell and Molly Choate; and his great-granddaughters, Cheyenne Lavinia Webb and Shayna Guidry.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Louise Webb and her husband, Rodger, of Canton; son, Scott Wilson, Jr. of Arcadia; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Hayes Grace Memorial Park, Pastor Mike Selzer officiating.

Military honors will be under the auspices of the VFW Post 5400 and interment will follow under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
