Fort Bend Herald, December 20, 2011:

Funeral services for Paula Bijarro, 86, of Rosenberg, are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 514 Carlise Street in Rosenberg. Burial will follow at W.O.W. Cemetery in Rosenberg. Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Chapel of Hernandez Funeral Home, 800 Fourth Street in Rosenberg. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Ms. Bijarro was born June 18, 1925 in Oak Forest, and she went to be with our Lord Dec. 18, 2011 in Rosenberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Candelario and Tomasa Cruz; her husband, Martin Bijarro Sr.; her son, Martin Bijarro Jr.; her brothers, Fernando Cruz, Candelario Cruz, Ramon Cruz, Ramon Amaro, and Demencio Cruz; her sister, Virginia Bentancur; and her grandson, Paul Munoz.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Guadalupe Jurado and husband, Lupe L., Paula Munoz and husband, Rito, Joe Bijarro and wife, Alice, Gloria Garcia and her companion, Stel Zuno, Diana Cabrera and husband, Frank, Dinah Garcia and husband, Joaquin; her brother, Francisco Cruz; and her sisters, Julia Cano and Tina Betancur. She also is survived by 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other loving family members and friends.

Ms. Bijarro was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and up until her illness, she was an active Guadalupana very devoted to her church.
