Remembering my Grandmother, Maude Mae (Johnson) Gattis, she played the Organ in church at a younger age. She loved music. When I visited her, she wanted me to sing one of her favorite songs: D-i-v-o-r-c-e. Another favorite song was: "Bad Moon Rising." I can still vision her rocking away in her rocking chair when I, or anyone else, would sing. Her cousin, Jimmy Johnson, moved from Belmont, Ms. to the Shoals, Al. area, established "Muscle Shoals Sound Studio" in the 60's. Jimmy Johnson became famous for Engineering Rock n Roll music, and he cut many records in the 60's and 70's for some of the most famous recording stars, such as: The Rolling Stones, and too many to mention. He is Chairman of the Board at the "Alabama Music Hall of Fame" in Tuscumbia, Alabama and is still active in the music industry. He discovered the late Lenoard Synard. Mama Maude Mae, as well as all the family, was always proud of him and to know he is a part of our family. Mama Maude will always be remembered as a loving caring Grandmother. She is my mother, Mildred (Gattis) Gasaway's Mother. Mama Maude Mae (Johnson) Gattis was loved by many.
