Harriet B. Petersen, Sioux City, died Monday, April 6, 1992, at a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Marvin Mueller of Morningside Lutheran Church, officiating. Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
Mrs. Peterson, the former Harriet Martin, was born in Berea, Iowa, and came to Sioux City at an early age. She married Herman H. Petersen Nov. 4, 1937, in Sioux Falls. He died Sept. 2, 1967, in Sioux City. A barber, she worked at several barber shops in Sioux City for more than 30 years, retiring in the early 1960s.
Mrs. Petersen was a former member of the Scandinavian Societies and the Eagles Lodge. She was a Lutheran.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Judith Michael, of California; a grandson, Shawan; a granddaughter, Teresa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; and three brothers.
