Funeral services for Marion L. Lynam were held on Thursday, September 28, 1961 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sutphen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul C. Ellis officiating.
Pall bearers included Albert Johnson, Paul Hunt, Albert Crow, Paul Lund, Lewis Lyman, and Harvey Wyatt. Flower bearers were Ruth Wyatt and Bernadine Hunt. The music was by Carolyn Harris accompanied by Frances Wheeler.
Concluding service and interment was in Quincy Cemetery.
Marion Lovina Martin, daughter of Eva Cone Martin and John Gilbert Martin, was born March 4, 1896 in Corning, Iowa and passed away in the Clarinda Municipal Hospital on September 26, 1981, after a long illness. She was 65 years, 6 months, and 22 days of age.
She grew to womanhood in Adas County attending the local schools. On August 14, 1913, she was united in marriage to William James Lynam. Mr. Lynam passed away on November 21, 1960.
To them were born seven children, Muriel, who preceded her in death on November 4, 1935; Cloyd, who lives in Colorado; Kenneth of Emerson, Velma Hackett of Omaha, Nebraska, James of Yankton, South Dakota; and Wilma Bashaw and Joyce Gourley of Villisca.
She is survived by six children, 22 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, three sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, her mother, one sister, and two brothers. Also by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, three sisters, Estella Mae, Zora Ellen, and Rowena Maxine, and by one brother, Cone.
She was a devoted homemaker, and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed having her grandchildren about her.
