OBITUARY Cora Mae Peters - 1896 - 1979 Cora Mae Peters was born on January 16, 1896, at Newell, Iowa. She was the oldest of three sisters and three brothers born to Clarence and Mary Stanley. Cora married W. O. Gaddy. Following his death she married Frank Peters. During her life, Cora lived in the Newell area as well as in the state of Illinois. Much of her life's work was doing something she enjoyed— cooking. In her younger years, she helped in the care of her brothers and sisters through cooking and baking at home. When she worked outside the home, she worked as a cook in many boys' homes. She enjoyed her work as well as being able to become a friend to many of the residents. In 1968, Cora retired, and she took up residence at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake. Cora Mae Peters died on Nov. 17, 1979 at the age of 83 years. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Frank Stanley of Oquawka, Illinois. She is survived by her sisters, Ila Kjolhede of Newell; and Anna Shaw of Seattle, Washington; and by her brothers, Ernest Stanley of Galesburg, Illinois and Roy Stanley of Chicago, Illinois.
