Mr. Achord was a retired master gunnery sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps, having proudly served his country during the Korean War and twice during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Judi Lake Achord; three daughters, Brenda A. Anderson, Diana L. Hall and Leona A. Baldwin; son, Johnnie Achord; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Achord; mother, Eula Wax Achord; and brother, "Butch" Achord.
