Mr. Berlin Leon Achord, 74, and a resident of Kentwood, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Southwest Regional Medical Center, McComb, Miss. He was born in Ponchatoula on Sunday, April 16, 1933, the son of the late Johnnie Achord and the late Eula Mae Wax Achord.
Mr. Achord was a retired master gunnery sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps, having proudly served his country during the Korean War and twice during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Judi Lake Achord; three daughters, Brenda A. Anderson, Diana L. Hall and Leona A. Baldwin; son, Johnnie Achord; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Achord; mother, Eula Wax Achord; and brother, "Butch" Achord.
