Funeral Services Conducted for Mr. J.M. Holland
Mr. J. M. Holland died August 4 in Fort Worth where he moved in 1922 from Hood County.
Mr. Holland was born in Athens, Alabama June 29, 1859. He was married about 1883 to Miss Callie Jones. To this union were born twelve children, six boys and six girls all of whom survive. They are Milton and Tom, Davidson, Oklahoma; Will, California; Claude and George, Granbury; John, Big Spring; Mrs. Lillian McPherson, Mrs. Lula Ellis, Mrs. Lucile Collins, Fort Worth; Mrs. Lizzie Howard, Hubbard; Mrs. Lela Sargent, San Antonio; Mrs. Lila Hayworth, Big Spring. His wife also survives him, forty-two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
He was a successful Hood County farmer for a number of years before moving to Fort Worth. He had been in ill health for about two years.
Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon at Nubbin Ridge by Rev. Van P. Morrison of Waxahachie, M. C. Morrison of Handley had charge of the Masonic service. Mr. Holland was a member of the Methodist Church for forty-two years.
