He served 23 years of military service with the Army National Guard. After working many years with US Plywood, he transferred and retired from Georgia Pacific in Vienna, GA. Some of his many joys in life were restoring pianos with his brother Fred, woodworking, serving the Lord and being with his family. Ted was a devoted Christian and a member of the Saint Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Ted is survived by his wife, Olivia Gaye Williams of 46 wonderful years; daughter, Cheryl Schlins (Billy); son, Gene Williams, Jr. (Tammy); daughter, Deborah Williams (Edward); son Brandon Williams (Krystle); his siblings, Edward Williams and Pauline Morton and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by 5 brothers and 6 sisters.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Sardis Baptist Church on Sunday, July 5th at 4:00 PM. All family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service but will be asked to abide by the state’s recommendations of wearing a mask and social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be sent to Saint Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 219, Swansea, S. C. 29160.
