Ringgold, GA--Lorene Akin Brown Roberts died Saturday, December 11, 1999, in a local health care facility, She was 74.
Mrs. Roberts was retired from Borg Fabric where she worked as a knitter. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Chickamauga and a member of Dorcas Sunday School Class.
She was a native of Pikeville,Bledsoe County,TN, where she had resided until 1964 when she moved to the North Georgia area.
She was preceded in death by her son, Alva Lewis Brown; and brother, Richard A. Akin.
Survivors include her husband, A.P. Roberts; daughter, Nola Jane Brown Underwood, Chickamauga, GA; two sons, James C. Brown, Sr., Pikeville, TN and Bobby J. Brown, Ringgold, TN; one stepdaughter, Willa Lewis, Wilmington, SC; three stepsons, Edward L. Roberts and Albert P. Roberts, both of Pikeville, TN and John "Steve" Roberts of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Irene Akin Seals and Marie Akin Myers, both of Pikeville, TN; three brothers, Albert Akin, Massachusetts, H.C. Akin, Pikeville, TN and Joe H. Akin, Catletsburg, KY; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at noon at W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry L. Underwood officiating.
Burial will be in Pikeville Cemetery.
Visitation will be today after 5 P.M. at the funeral home.
