George E. Baer
George E. Baer, 72, Meyersdale died July 3 in the Meyersdale Community hospital. He was born Oct. 3, 1887 in Meyersdale, the son of Daniel D. and Sarah (Werner) Baer.
His survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Keefer Baer; five children: Leo E. and Ottis D., both of Meyersdale; Glenn H., Baltimore, MD.; Allan J. and Miss Mary A. Baer, both of Washington D.C.; one brother and three sisters: Miss Emma C., Miss Susan N. and Mrs. Edith Keefer, all of Meyersdale; Ezra R., Somerset; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Baer was a member of the Amity United Church of Christ and was a member of the Railroad Brotherhood Conductors. Since Aug. 25, 1952, Mr. Baer was hospitalized after he was injured, falling from a caboose.
Friends are being received in the Price funeral home until Wednesday 2:30 p.m. when the remains will be removed to the Amity United Church of Christ and will lie in state form 3 to 4 p.m. - the time of service. The Rev. Martin E. Heath will be in charge with burial in the church cemetery.
