Leo E. Baer, 89, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Meyersdale, died Nov. 20, 2001 at Mt. Vernon Hospital, Alexandria. Born Dec. 13, 1911 in Meyersdale. A son of the late George E. and Mary (Keefer) Baer. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Catherine Arnold; and infant daughter, Hilda Marie; and a brother, Ottis D. Baer. Survived by two sons: Wayne E. Baer and his wife Janie, Washington, W.Va., and Donald L. Baer, and his wife Chris, Alexandria, Va.. Three grandchildren: Timothy, Matthew and Rebeka. A brother of: Glenn H. Baer, Collegeville, Pa.; Allan J. Baer, and Mary Ada Baer, both of Clarksville, Md. Leo retired from the B&O Railroad in 1974 where he worked as a telegraph operator. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Reformed Cemetery, Meyersdale.
