May 9, 1927 – June 6, 2020

Barbara Mohler Maus, 93 passed away Saturday, June 6th, 2020 at Monarch Hospice House in Lincoln surrounded by her family. She was born to E.G. & Stella Mohler in Lincoln, Nebraska. She grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska where she graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1945.

After graduation she attended UNL. She married Sterling Maus in 1946. They had two daughters, Paulette and Suzan.

She started her career at the U.S. Department of Agriculture soil conservation service until her retirement after 31 years. Most of this time was spent in Lincoln, Nebraska as a cartographic technician with the last several years spent as a Public Affairs Specialist for the soil conservation service in New Jersey.

She loved art and spent several enjoyable years as a volunteer at Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha following retirement and also volunteered for N.A.R.F.E.

She was able to witness four grandkids growing up and welcomed eight great-grandchildren along with two great-great grandchildren into her fold.

Barbara leaves to celebrate her life; sister JoAnn Tuin; children: Paulette & Jerry Koloen of Omaha; Suzan &David Lightbody of Lincoln; four grandchildren: Amy Hagley; Chris Koloen; Dan Lightbody and Jennifer Staniforth; eight grandchildren: Mikala, Jacob, Kalie, Nicole, Katelyn, David, Anabelle, Oliver and two great-great grandchildren: Jasper and Lilith.

She was preceded in death by her parents EG & Stella Mohler, her husband Sterling; her sister Gwen; her brothers, Jerry and Donny.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be later announced due to Covid 19 restrictions.
