Mildred "Mickey" Martin of Ithaca went to heaven to join her family on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the age of 94. Mickey was born on March 29, 1926, a daughter of the late John Floyd and Florence (Reese) Cole.
Mickey and her husband Frank were the resident custodians of Myron Taylor Hall at Cornell for 31 and a half years from 1957 to 1988.
She was a member of the Jacksonville United Methodist Church, Enfield Senior Citizens, Trumansburg Senior Citizens, the FCRV Camping Club, the Good Sam Camping Club, and the 39er's.
Mickey was the widow of Frank Martin (1990), mother of the late Terri Harris (2015), mother in law to the late Jeff Harris (2019), and sister to the late Louise Tompkins (2008), Harold Cole (1981), Arthur Cole (2016), and Dorothy Denman (2016).
She was also preceded in death by her in-laws, Grayson (1946) and Ruth (1972) Martin; and nine brothers in law and seven sisters in law.
Mickey is survived by her brother John Cole Jr. of Tennessee; sister Evelyn "Pee Wee" Rogers of Rochester; sister in law Zelda Bennett of Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends - some even who affectionately called her "Mom."
The family will be present to receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg.
A graveside service will immediately follow at Frear Memorial Park officiated by Geri Judd.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those that would like to make a contribution in Mickey's memory to kindly consider the Jacksonville Methodist Church, Trumansburg Food Pantry, or a charity of one's choice.
