Florence Ida Reese Cole, 98, passed away June 22, 2001 at Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca, N.Y. She formerly resided in Ithaca and Owego. She was born on December 9, 1902 in Wyalusing, P.A., the daughter of Irving and Laura (Wells) Reese. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, John Floyd Cole, Sr.; her son, Harold Robert Cole; and brother, Clarence Reese. Florence is survived by her children, Cora Louise Tompkins, Mildred (Mickey) Martin, John Floyd Cole, Jr. and wife Almeda (Midge), Arthur Cole and wife Patricia, Dorothy Denman, Evelyn Rodgers; a daughter-in-law Zelda Burnett; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; three half-brothers, John Walliser, Elwood Reese and wife Hazel, and Joseph Reese; a sister-in-law Mabel Reese; and many nieces and nephews.
