George was the son of J.W. Jenkins. He is buried beside his wife, Mary Gertrude Bennett Jenkins. They are in Navarro Co, TX in 1900, married within the year. Their sons, Earl Elmer Jenkins, Ernest Edgar Jenkins, Homer Stewart Jenkins and Joe Whitfield Jenkins, are buried in Garden of Memories. Their daughter, Carrie Bess Jenkins Parker, is buried in Pilgrim Cemetery. He was a Mason.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Wednesday, 19 November 1947:

G. H. Jenkins, 69, resident of Elkhart, died Wednesday morning at 6:15 o'clock after an extended illness,.

Funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Elkhart Baptist Church, with Rev. T. M. Dean officiating. Burial will be in the Elkhart cemetery. Elkhart masons will serve as pallbearers and have charge at the grave.

Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife; four sons, Joe, Homer, Earl and Ernest Jenkins, all of Elkhart; two daughters, Mrs. Carry Bess Parker and Mrs. Jewell Easley, both of Elkhart; four brothers, H. B. Jenkins of Rusk, Grady Jenkins of Butler, A. L. Jenkins of Tyler, and J. T. Jenkins, Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Lunsford and Mrs. Annie Sutton, both of Rusk, and Mrs. Ida Harry, Falfurrias.
