Ernest was the son of George Henry and Mary Gertrude Bennett Jenkins. His parents are also buried in Garden of Memories. He shares a stone with his wife, Helen Eugenia Brazziel Jenkins.

Services for Ernest E. Jenkins, 80, of Elkhart, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Elkhart with the Rev. Floyd Peterson officiating. The body will be at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home until taken to the cemetery for services. Mr. Jenkins died Friday morning at Elkhart Manor Nursing Home. He was born Aug. 10, 1908, in Elkhart, a son of George Henry and Mary Elizabeth Bennett Jenkins. He was owner and operator of a Conoco service station in Elkhart. He attended First Baptist Church in Elkhart. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Eugenia Jenkins, on April 22, 1980. Survivors include a son, Robert Brazziel Jenkins of Gainesville, Fla.; sister, Jewel Easley of Elkhart; and a brother, Earl Jenkins Sr. of Elkhart. Condolence calls will be received at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a favorite charity.
