Bobbie Jean Humphrey Powell, age 74, of the Charlotteville Community, died Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at her home, after an extended illness. She was a native of the Kibbee Community and was a 1964 graduate of Montgomery County High School. She lived in Lyons and Johnson Corner most of her life before moving to Charlotteville four years ago. She worked with Oxford Industries for many years and retired from Meredith Industries. She was a member of the Cedar Crossing Church of God, and she enjoyed yard work and word puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Queen B. Humphrey and Johnny Humphrey; two sisters, Sabre Lamb and Faye Spivey; and a brother, William Humphrey.

Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband, Henry Powell, Jr. of Charlotteville; two daughters, Missy Oglesby and Sonja Elrod and husband Craig, all of Uvalda; two step-sons, Jeff Powell and Curtis Powell of Ailey; five grandchildren, Jason Braddock and Karina of Twin City; Tyler Smith of Vidalia, Jordan Braddock of Statesboro, Kyle Elrod of Marietta, and Caelan Elrod of Statesboro; four step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, June 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Crossing Church of God Cemetery with Pastor Steven Toole officiating.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
