Ruth Venetta Sparrow was born Sept. 11, 1893, at Farmer City, a daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth McCance Sparrow. She married Sherman Ready Feb. 4, 1913, in DeWitt County. He died Nov.15, 1963.
Surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Murphey; two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
Three brothers and six sisters preceded her in death.
