HARTSVILLE - Gus Hoffmeyer Sr. , 54 died early Monday night at a local hospital from injuries received eariler in the evening when he fell from a pecan tree. He was born and reared in Florence County, the son of George and Ethel Revell Hoffmeyer.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 from the Wesley Methodist Church. Rev. R. C. Griffith will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, who before marriage was Nelle Humphries; one son, Gus Hoffmeyer Jr.; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. George Hoffmeyer of Florence; five brothers; Adolph K. Hoffmeyer of Florence, Marion Hoffmeyer of Newberry, Weldon Hoffmeyer of Alabama, Massey W. Hoffmeyer of Greenville, and Benjamin G. Hoffmeyer of Charlotte, N. C.; three sisters; Mrs. William M. Rhodes and Mrs. Herbert Humphries of Florence and Mrs. M. C. Summers of Darlington. Two grandchildren, Mary Nelle and Linda Kay Hoffmeyer of Hartsville.
The body will be carried from the Brown -Pennington Funeral Home to the residence Wednesday morning at 9:30.
The official board of Wesley Methodist Church will serve as active and honorary bearers.
