J.D. was my grandmother's little brother. He was born in the community of Bethlehem near Wills Point Texas to John Dump White and Bertha Alma Long White (my great grandparents).

At birth he was named John Dump Jr. He always went by J.D. However, as an adult he didn't like the name John Dump and changed his name to James Douglas.

He met and married Ethyl Elizabeth Wise (aka "Bip") in Baltimore Maryland. She was the daughter of George E Wise and Mary Murphy Wise. "Bip" and JD had two sons ... James Douglas and Gregory V White.

Military Note:
WHITE, J. D., Jr., Pfc. ... son of Mrs. Bertha White, Canton; entered Army Air Corps 1942, trained at Camp Wolters, Tarrant Field, Sheppard Field, & Dodge City, KS. Awarded Good Conduct Medal & Wings.

WHITE ... on Tuesday 11 January 1966. JAMES D. JR. of 2110 Merritt Blvd, Dunkalk, the beloved husband of Ethyl E (nee Wise) and devoted father of James D and Gregory V White. Mr. White rests at Dunkalk Funeral Home of John J. Duds 7922 Wise Avenue. Visiting hours from 2 until 9 p.m. Funeral services on Saturday at 1 p.m. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
